VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A  San Bernardino County deputy on Sunday saved a suicidal woman from jumping off the Interstate 15 La Mesa/Nisqualli Road overpass in Victorville.

At about 1:34pm, Sunday April 24, 2022, deputies were out with the adult female on the overpass bridge threatening to jump off the bridge. She also reportedly had a knife with her and began cutting herself.

The Sheriff crisis team were trying to help her.  Deputies had to use their less-lethal rounds and eventually deployed it. They had her in custody right before 1:45pm.

Deputies applied a tourniquet to the woman’s arm before she was transported by AMR to a local hospital.

Westbound lanes on La Mesa Road were temporarily closed during the investigation.

This is all the information that was released at this time stated by Victorville PD.

The incident caused heavy traffic along southbound I-15 freeway at La Mesa/Nisqualli Rd to Mojave Dr. during the closure.
