BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A single-vehicle rollover near the town of Baker on southbound Interstate 15 killed a person Wednesday night. 

The crash happened at about 9:43pm Wednesday July 6, 2022. The location was on southbound Interstate 15 about 7 miles away from Halloran Spring Road. California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving an unknown sedan.

According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Log, the car lost control at an unknown high speed. The car veered onto the right shoulder and rolled-over multiple times, landing about 40 feet off of the freeway.

Firefighters rendered aid to one person involved in the crash. Rescue crews requested one helicopter to transport with serious injuries. The person was transported by Mercy Air #7 to Las Vegas University Medical Center. At the hospital the person succumbed to their injuries sustained in the collision. 

That person’s identity has not been released publicly at this time.

The incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
