PRIMM, NV. (Pain In The Pass) >> A fatal rollover crash near the California border that closed southbound Interstate 15 for hours Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:12am, Tuesday July 12, 2022. It was located on northbound Interstate 15 about 2 miles after Primm Boulevard. Nevada State Police and the Clark County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving two vehicles.
According to Nevada State Police, a red Nissan SUV possibly a Nissan Rogue was speeding in the northbound lanes and rear-ended a Red Toyota Tacoma pickup at high speeds. This causing the pickup to lose control and roll over multiple times landed in the southbound lanes.
A female passenger of the pickup truck was ejected and was killed at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to by Mercy Air to Las Vegas University Medical Center. Three other passengers in the pickup truck were taken to St. Rose Siena Hospital in unknown condition.
Trooper Ashlee Wellman said it’s not known at this time if the driver of the Nissan was impairment prior to the collision. No other injuries were reported.
This incident will be under investigation by the Nevada State Police and said additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Details were limited at this time.
