GLENDORA, CA. (Pain In The Pass)>> Firefighters were battling a brush fire in the Angeles National Forest. High desert residence may smell smoke this afternoon/evening.
The East Fire was first spotted around 1:43pm near East Fork and Glendora Mountain Road in the San Gabriel Mountains.
The winds were gusting at about 10 to 20 mph in heavy brush fanning the flames. Multiple helicopters and airtankers were called to the scene to do drops to help stop the fire.
At 4pm the fire is 75 acres burning in heavy brush
No Structures were threatened during the fire fight, but there are power lines in the area.
Smoke Watch for the high desert residence you may smell smoke this afternoon/evening.
Friday morning the Fire is 149 acres, with 20% containment.
Saturday morning update the acres are the same with 75% containment.
