BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two people were airlifted to a hospital after a rollover accident that blocked northbound Interstate 15 near Midway/Clyde V. Kane Rest Stop Area Saturday morning.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving an unknown type of vehicle. The crash took place at about 7:52am August 27, 2022. About a mile before the Midway/Clyde V. Kane Rest Stop Area.

The vehicle was reported to be traveling on the southbound lanes. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle lost control, rolled over multiple times, landing on the northbound lanes. The vehicle was the only one involved in the crash. 

Rescue crews requested two medical helicopter to transport two of the four people inside. One was transported by Mercy Air #66 and the second person was transported by Mercy Air #2 both at the scene to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in unknown condition. The other two people weren’t injured to be transported.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
