Firefighters Contain Small Brush Fire Next To Northbound I-15 Fontana

FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >>A small vegetation fire burning next to northbound Interstate 15 in the Lytle Creek Wash on Saturday night, authorities said.

The fire may have started by a homeless encampment in the wash. Firefighters were battling the flames in medium brush between Interstate 15 at Sierra Avenue and Riverside Ave in the north end of Fontana.

The fire was reported at about 11:22pm Sunday, September 4, 2022. US Forest Service, CAL Fire, and San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters were quickly on scene. By 12am the fire forward spread was stopped.

The fire burned about ½ acre in the wash. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
