HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcyclist was killed when he hit a car making a U-turn on Summit Valley Road in Hesperia, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred about 5:37am Wednesday morning on September 28, 2022 on southbound Summit Valley Rd. by Trout Street. California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision involving a red motorcycle and a silver sedan.
A 23-year-old Fontana woman who was sitting in traffic on southbound Summit Valley Rd. in a silver Hyundai Elantra was attempting to make a U-turn into the northbound lane. The red Ducati 750SS motorcycle rider was also traveling southbound in the northbound lane and struck the driver side door of her car.
A witness stated the rider may have been going about or a least 50 mph at the time of the crash.
The rider was transported by ambulance to Desert Valley Medical Center in Victorville, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. The female driver of the Hyundai Elantra was uninjured.
The name of the deceased rider is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor to the collision, the CHP said.
