California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The crash happened at about 5:43pm on Sunday October 2, 2022. The vehicles involved in the head on crash were a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with major front end damage that was traveling eastbound and a white Mitsubishi unknown sedan that was split in half that was traveling westbound . Rescue crews requested two medical helicopter to transport two of the four people injured. Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said two people were pronounced deceased at the scene. One person was transported by Mercy Air #22 near the scene to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in unknown condition. Reportedly two people were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Sadly there is a update to this story the coroner has confirmed three people have died as result in this traffic collision Sunday evening. The three are described as a 49 year-old, a 69 year-old, and a 63 year-old. No further information related to identity is available at this time.
