PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >>A man allegedly caused a traffic collision after shining a laser into another driver’s eyes on Highway 138 at Hwy 2 Saturday morning.
The victim was driving on Highway 138 about 12:12am Saturday October 8. The suspect Scott Socea, 46 years-old, resident of Lancaster was driving in the vehicle directly behind her. Socea felt the female victim was driving to slow and passed her.
Once in front of the victim, Socea stepped on his breaks and the victim flashed her bright lights at him. Socea then shined a green laser back at the victim’s car and directly into her eyes. The victim was unable to see due to the laser shining directly into her eyes, and rear ended Socea’s vehicle.
No injuries were reported and the laser was recovered and booked as evidence. Socea is scheduled to appear at the San Bernardino County Superior Court at a future date.
The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Deputy K. Williams at Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, 760-552-6800. Callers can remain anonymous and contact We-Tip at 800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com.
