CAJON PASS CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Morning commuters dealt with traffic congestion on Interstate 15 as rainy weather drenches the Cajon Pass.

There was over an hour-long delay on I-15 near Main Street in Hesperia all the way down to Sierra Avenue in Fontana beginning just after 4am. A rollover incident at Highway 138 and a crash before Glen Helen Pkwy caused it California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP also reported multiple accidents on Interstate 15 and side streets that lead to the freeway in the morning all do to weather.

The big part is the fact that we haven’t had heavy rain in months on a work day. The biggest concern is that when we get these rain storms, drivers are still driving like it’s dry. When we have a huge change in the weather, drivers need to slow down and drive smart.

The other problem is the oil that builds up on roads surface. Oil has sat on the road since the last big rain storm.

Slow down and drive according to the weather conditions. This is especially important in the Cajon Pass and on Interstate 15 where drivers can find themselves losing control very quickly if they don’t slow down.

More wet weather is expected next week.
