MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash. One vehicle rolled-over on Interstate 15 that left a driver dead at the scene.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:46pm, Sunday December 4, 2022. The crash was located on northbound Interstate 15 about a mile before Nipton Road in the Mountain Pass area near Stateline. California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving two vehicles. From what the CHP traffic log stated, a white sedan was traveling on northbound I-15, the sedan lost control hitting a passing vehicle. This caused it to roll-over multiples times landing on it’s wheels.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighter officials said the driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identification of the driver will not be released until the family is notified.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
