MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi-tractor trailer lost control in wet conditions and crashed into another while traveling northbound on Interstate 15 Wednesday morning.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving two tractor-trailers. The crash took place about 7:45 am Wednesday, March 15, 2023, about two miles after Nipton Road on southbound I-15 in the slow lane.
A red semi lost control on a wet roadway from the northbound side, then went through the center median and hit a passing blue semi-trailer on the southbound side.

The result was the red semi-tractor trailer that went across the freeway was immobile on its side and blocked the slow lane. A miracle happened, the red semi that went across the freeway, missing the driver of the blue semi cab area and destroyed the trailer full of pallets of candy ripping it apart. Thousands of candy bars and debris were scattered across the freeway.
The accident caused an entire section of southbound I-15 to close down one lane for hours, with a 15-mile backup. Drivers were advised to take alternate routes until it was cleared up. Thankfully, according to officials at the scene there were no major injuries as a result of the accident.
