PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A man was killed after being ejected from his truck in a head-on collision Tuesday morning.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department received calls of a collision on Highway 138 near Lone Pine canyon Road. According to CHP, the two-vehicle head-on crash happened at around 8:06 am Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
The vehicles involved in the crash were reported on the CHP traffic log as, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with major front-end damage and a sliver Dodge Ram pickup truck with major damage to front-end.
The rescue units arrived at the scene quickly and attempted to give lifesaving first-aid, unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and the driver of the Dodge was pronounced deceased at the scene by the San Bernardino County Coroner. Rescue crews used the Jaw-Of-Life to assist in the extrication of the driver of the Chevy truck. She was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
The highway was closed for about an hour Tuesday morning, but has since re-opened to traffic.
