CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A car was destroyed after it caught fire Wednesday night on Interstate 15 on northbound side of the Cajon Pass, according to the California Highway Patrol.
California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL Fire, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on northbound Interstate 15 about 2 miles after Highway 138 exit. The car fire was reported about 8:26pm Wednesday April 5, 2023, with flames coming from the engine compartment.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene to work on getting the vehicle fire put out. They had to temporary shut down the slow lane. The vehicle was reported to be a white Hyundai Genesis sedan. Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. Flames from the vehicle did reach nearby brush and started to catch fire on the hillside.
No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
