LLANO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash between two big rig dump trucks on Highway 138 near county line shut down a stretch of highway in all directions Friday afternoon into the night.
The crash happened at about 3:24pm Friday April 14, 2023. The location of the collision was on Highway 138 near Puzzle Canyon Road. California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles Fire Department and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision.
Firefighters rendered aid to one driver pinned in truck, they extrication him out of one of the dump truck. Rescue crews requested one helicopter to transport one with unknown injuries. The driver was transported by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department #5 to Antelope Valley Medical Center. The other driver was transported by ground ambulance.
One of the dump truck overturned and spilled what appeared to be a load of gravel rocks all over the roadway. Caltrans cleanup all the gravel and were reopen lanes just before 8pm.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Antelope Valley Office.
