BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> At least one person killed in a fiery crash on the 15 Freeway in Barstow Thursday morning, California Highway Patrol said.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from Barstow Fire Department responded to the traffic collision. The accident happened at 3:38am Thursday April 27, 2023, on southbound Interstate 15 near Outlet Center Dr. exit in the slow lane.

The collision involving a semi tractor trailer and possibly a sedan. The semi was hauling fourth thousand pounds of cardboard traveling in the slow lane. The driver of the vehicle hit the back end of a semi-trailer. The vehicle caught on fire, then with a few minutes became fully engulfed. 

At least one person killed at the scene, It’s unclear if anyone else was killed or injured in the CHP Traffic log. CHP believe speed was a factor in the crash.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
