MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcyclist is being treated at a hospital in Las Vegas after a crash in the Mountain Pass area near Stateline late Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred just after 4pm Wednesday May 10, 2023 on northbound Interstate 15 near Nipton Road exit. California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino Fire Department responded to a crash, with a rider down in the fast lane.
The motorcyclist was reported to be ejected from a red/black Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The bike landed in the center median and the rider was laying in the fast lane not moving CHP said.
Rescue crews arrived on scene, they called for a medical helicopter to the crash scene to transport. The motorcyclist was airlifted by Mercy Air #7 to the University of Las Vegas Hospital. The rider was last listed in critical condition.
Officers have yet to determine why the motorcyclist lost control and if it is a solo vehicle crash at this time.
