CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Authorities are looking for the driver of a gray Kia 4 door sedan that brake check and try to hit the victims vehicle Wednesday evening, sending his vehicle over the guardrail and down the embankment.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a vehicle that hit the guardrail and went over down the embankment. The collision was on the northbound side of Interstate 15 about 2 miles before Oak Hill Road exit. This happened about 6:10pm Wednesday on May 24, 2023.
For reasons still under investigation, The driver of a Ford Explorer stated a gray Kia sedan was brake checking him and tried to hit the Ford. The driver of the Ford lost control and hit a passing white semi tractor trailer. The contact cause the Ford hit the guardrail and went over the side, down the embankment landed on its wheels about 80 feet down.
It was reported the gray Kia sedan with a partial plate #DHZ?110 fled from the scene after brake checking and swerving to hit the Ford.
Multiple people rush over down the embankment and help pull out the male driver out of the vehicle. Only minor injuries were reported at the scene.
Anyone with information about the crash that could aid investigators’ search for the Kia sedan or the driver is asked to call CHP Inland Office dispatch at (909) 806-2400.
