BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Authorities have identified a driver killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on northbound Interstate 15 near the town of Baker.
California Highway Patrol with firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene. The crash scene was located on northbound I-15 about 2 miles away from Zzyzx Road. According to California Highway Patrol Traffic Log, the crash was reported about at 4:58am Tuesday May 30, 2023, by a iPhone watch notification.
When rescue crews arrived on scene they located a vehicle on its roof, fully involved in flames with nobody outside of the vehicle on the right side shoulder embankment.
The deceased driver was identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner Office as Chloe McCall Weatherspoon, a 24 year-old resident of Signal Hill.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. California Highway Patrol officials do not know why her vehicle left the roadway or whether impairment played a role.
