CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two brothers were killed on Monday morning when there car collided with a SUV and a sedan on northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass. There coworkers have initiated a fundraiser to help the family in this difficult time.

At about 3:49am Monday June 26, 2023, a three vehicle collision, resulted in the deaths of 61-year old Jorge Guzman and 47-year old Mario Guzman both resident of San Bernardino, according to family members. While the names have not been formally released by authorities, a GoFundMe campaign for the family has identified the brothers.

The collision happened on northbound I-15 just after the Kenwood Avenue exit. The three vehicles involved in the collision were a white Toyota Highlander, a possible white Nissan Versa the Guzman’s brothers were in, and a black Buick Verano sedan stated on the CHP traffic log.

CHP’s preliminary collision report said less than a minute after the first crash of the Toyota and the Nissan which happened in a dark area of I-15. A Buick hit Guzman’s Nissan in the rear-end causing it to burst into flames, leaving both brothers trap in there vehicle, firefighters official said. The driver of the Buick probably couldn’t see the Nissan as it was dark and stopped in the lanes. The crash investigation is still active and open.

The GoFundMe account has been created to raise money for funeral expenses for the Guzman’s family
