BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcyclist has died after they crashed into a guardrail Sunday afternoon on Interstate 15. (Photo above is credit by Matthew Shebie.)
California Highway Patrol and firefighters responded to the traffic collision involving an unknown motorcycle. The crash took place at about 3:31pm on July 16, 2023. The incident happened on northbound I-15 about a mile and a half after the Basin Road exit.
From the CHP Traffic Log the motorcyclist lost control and the rider became separated from the motorcycle and both smashed into the guardrail in the center divider. The rider landed in the fast lane and was unresponsive by first responders.
The rider was treated and transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Barstow Community Hospital pronounced the rider deceased at the hospital.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
