OAK HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputies have close Ranchero Road off after construction workers hit a water main pipe Wednesday afternoon. (Photo above is credit by Mark Serrano.)
Construction workers were operating a piece of equipment near the railroad tracks where they partially hit the water main, releasing water into the roadway. The incident happened about 3:38pm July 19, 2023 on Ranchero Rd. near Outpost Rd.
Firefighters notified Hesperia Pubic Works to the accident scene and to look for the valve to turn off the water. A small sink hole has started to form when the water was turn off.
No one was injured in the incident.
Ranchero Road will be closed for several hours thought-out the night and maybe in the morning. The site will need the pipe fixed with the hole needs to be backfilled, recompacted and deemed safe before drivers can drive on the roadway again.
