LLANO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person lost their life and two injured in a head-on crash on Highway 138 Monday morning.(Photo above is credit by Christopher Belcher)
California Highway Patrol and firefighters from Los Angeles County Fire Department and San Bernardino County Fire Department were called to the crash scene on Monday about 10:40am August 14, 2023. The location of the crash was on Highway 138 at Puzzle Canyon Road.
According to CHP Traffic Log, the two vehicles involved in the crash were between a Nissan pick-up truck possibly a white Titan truck and a red semi tractor trailer both with major front end damage. Both vehicles were fully engulfed in flames after impact.
For reasons still under investigation, The male driver of the Nissan was driving westbound colliding head-on into the semi traveling eastbound.
Driver and passenger of the semi were able to get out before the semi was fully involved in flames. Both were transported by helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major injuries
The CHP traffic log stated the driver of the truck succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision inside the pickup truck.
His identity will be withheld pending next of kin notification.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this collision.
