VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> An overturned big rig carrying a full load of eggs Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (Photo above is credit by Lucas Di Nunzio.)
The crash was reported at about 5:44am October 21, 2023 on southbound Interstate 15 just after the Bear Valley Road exit. The semi tractor-trailer was reported to be full of 35,000 pounds of eggs that spilled all over the drainage ditch.
For reasons still under investigation, the semi driver veered off the right shoulder of the freeway into the drainage ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported at the scene.
The slow lane and middle lane was blocked for about a hour to upright the semi. Traffic on Amargosa Road was backed up due to multiple tow trucks to retrieve the cargo of eggs.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
