HALLORAN SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> According to the California Highway Patrol, a person was killed after a vehicle hit a pedestrian on shoulder of Interstate 15 Friday night.
According to a preliminary crash report, a black Dodge Caravan was traveling at a high rate of speed at about 9:49pm, November 10, 2023. The Dodge went to pass a vehicle and a semi tractor trailer on the right shoulder on northbound Interstate 15 after Halloran Springs Road exit.
When the Dodge Caravan passed the semi on the right shoulder (emergency lane) the vehicle hit a pedestrian that was walking along I-15. The driver sped away and don’t stop. A witness saw the hit and run and called it in to CHP dispatch. Miles up the freeway CHP stop a Dodge Caravan with major front-end damage in the Mountain Pass area near Nipton Road exit. CHP reportedly impound their vehicle for evidence due to the fatal incident. From the CHP Traffic Log stated passengers in the vehicle were able to be pickup by family members.
It’s unknown at this time if they will charge the driver for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident with an injury or death.
