BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Traffic is moving again on Interstate 15 in Barstow on Saturday night after an RV trailer fire on the shoulder caused delays. (Photo above is credit by Robert DeAnna Tafoya.)

California Highway Patrol, with Barstow City Fire Department were called to the scene. Emergency dispatcher said a travel trailer caught fire about 7:57pm on Saturday November 25, 2023 on northbound I-15 about a mile after Outlet Center Drive.

When the pickup truck pulling a 35 foot travel trailer stop on the right shoulder, flames were coming from the trailer. Before the fire department were on scene, flames were spreading inside the trailer. Propane tanks inside caught fire and the CHP temporary stop traffic to fight the flames. CHP open one lane at 8:50pm and all lanes were reopen at 9:30pm.

The driver was able to detach from the trailer to save the pickup truck from catching fire.

The cause of the trailer fire is unknown at this time. No injuries were reported.
