CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi tractor trailer barreled through hundreds of feet of guardrail and hits a vehicle, after the driver said the truck’s brakes quit working Sunday afternoon.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened just after 12pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023. The semi driver barreled through the Cajon Pass while traveling southbound on Interstate 15 between the truck scales and the Cleghorn Road exit.

The semi truck was carrying a load of 24,000 pounds of boxed goods, that was split in half after crashing through the guardrail. It then went down the embankment, landing in the wash along the freeway.

The driver of the semi-truck was taken to the hospital by an ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The semi driver hit at least one vehicle, a black Honda Civic sedan. The driver of the Honda was uninjured.
