VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol officials say they are investigating a crash between a motorcycle and a white SUV on southbound Interstate 15.

CHP and Victorville City Fire Department says the collision happened about 1:57pm on southbound I-15 just after Bear Valley Road exit, involving a motorcyclist on a blue bike and a white SUV.

The rider was ejected from the bike. The rider was lying near the center divider of the freeway and the bike in the middle lane. Rescue crews arrived on scene to render aid. According to fire department the motorcyclist sustained major injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Desert Valley Hospital. The hospital requested a medical helicopter to transport the rider to a trauma center. The rider was transported by Mercy Air #2 helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

The SUV driver was not injured in the collision and remained on scene and was cooperated with CHP officers.
