HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue work on a $122 million project to rehabilitate and repave traffic lanes and ramps and upgrade the drainage systems in Hesperia to Victorville in the center divider/right shoulders on Interstate 15 in San Bernardino County. This project will not add a extra lane to the freeway or for a train.
As of the end of December the project is 56% completion and still on track.
Crews continue excavation and paving operations.
This new traffic patterns will go on for months from Oak Hill Road to Bear Valley Road in both directions. The traffic patterns is for crews to remove and replace concrete. Expect Major Delays at night and around 4am in the morning daily.
Monday, January 8 through Saturday, January 13.
**CONNECTOR CLOSURES will be in place at the NB/SB I-15 TO NB/SB Hwy 395. Watch for signage displaying alternate routes.
Northbound I-15 from Oak Hill Rd to Bear Valley Rd – 9pm to 7am.*
- Alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one.
- *All on / off ramps are subject to intermittent closures for crew safety and related roadwork.
- Connector closures may take place: NB/SB I-15 to NB/SB US 395 during operations. Watch for signage.
- NB Joshua and Main Street off ramps: Oversized loads must use lanes 1 and 2.
Southbound I-15 from Bear Valley Rd to Oak Hill Rd – 6pm – 4am.*
- Alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one.
- *All on / off ramps are subject to intermittent closures for crew safety and related roadwork.
- Connector closures may take place: NB/SB I-15 to NB/SB US 395 during operations. Watch for signage.
- In order to exit at SB Oak Hills off ramp, traffic must be in lanes 3 and 4.
K-rail separates the inside lanes and does not allow access.
Traffic Swap: North of the US 395 on the I-15 a traffic switch is in place. The NB traffic, just north of the US 395, is detoured into the median to enable crews to remove and replace concrete.
*Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. On and off ramps may be subject to closure. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.
In the event of rain – NB and SB lanes #1 and #2 will close due to potential flooding.
The project is expected to be complete in early summer 2025.
