PRIMM, NV. (Pain In The Pass) >> Blowing dust has led to reduced visibility and a traffic accident on Interstate 15 heading into California state line Sunday morning.

A windstorm in north San Bernardino County blew blinding dust off desert Sunday, causing a small pileup involving at least four vehicles on southbound I-15 about two miles away from Stateline Sunday January 7 about 11:50am.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision involved a dark blue Tesla Model 3, a black Toyota Corolla, a semi tractor trailer and several of vehicles not listed in the CHP Traffic Log. The Toyota stated had major rear-end damage.

Two people were transported by ambulances to a local hospital with back injuries. no other injuries were reported.

A driver stated visibility was near zero at times.

If you’re driving and you have to enter a dust area, reduce your speed to what you believe you can safely drive through it. Keep moving unless you come up behind a stopped vehicle.

Sunday’s event was caused by weak storm system quick blew through, combined with gusty winds.

Peak winds in the area reached up to 50 miles per hours.
