HIGH DESERT, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A cold Wind Advisory for Wednesday late afternoon through Thursday afternoon. A Gusty Wind Event is for the Victor Valley, Lucerne Valley, and the Mojave Desert locations. Also a High Wind Warning from the mountain areas like Crestline and Wrightwood area.

A cold front is going to sweep through the Southern California later this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Gusty Southwest winds are expected out ahead of the front, with Northwest winds behind the cold front. This front will bring increased chances for rain & snow showers Thursday morning for the desert cities.

Southern California Weather Force Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the high desert. With winds blowing around 40-50 mph in the Victor Valley area. Parts of the Barstow area will have 40-50+ mph winds. Lucerne Valley area will have 50-60 mph winds. Mountains will have gust 50 to 60+ mph. Max wind gust will be 80 mph. The Wind Advisory should expire by Thursday afternoon only for the high desert. Wind intensity level map below (8 is the strongest gust 80+ mph to a 1 is weak at 10 mph.)

Hazardous driving conditions are possible with periods of blowing dust especially on the Interstate 15.
