VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A violent crash killed a passenger and injured two other people on northbound Interstate 15 Friday night.
The collision occurred about 7:51pm on Friday April 5, 2024. The crash location was under the Stoddard Wells Road bridge on northbound I-15. California Highway Patrol and firefighters from Victorville City Fire Department were called to the crash scene.
The silver Mazda 3 compact car lost control on wet pavement hit the dirt embankment, struck a bridge support pillar, landed onto its roof, and caught fire on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Three people were inside the vehicle. The driver, a 23-year-old Lancaster man, and a second passenger, a 24-year-old Palmdale man, were both airlifted out with major injuries, officials said. The third passenger was partially ejected from the vehicle, did sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The passenger killed has been ID as Jesus Millan, 24-year-old resident of Barstow, according to San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
Family members are asking others for prayers and to donate through a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for the funeral cost.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation, but intoxicated driving was suspected to have played a role, according to the CHP Victorville Office.
