HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Ranchero Road Widening Project is continuing next week. The widening project is approximately a 5 mile stretch of road near the 15 freeway to Seventh Avenue in Hesperia.
New traffic patterns will change, from Maple Avenue to Amestoy Road that’s near the train track starting Monday morning April 15 around 8am* in preparation for the final phase of the roadway improvements. The traffic pattern will go on for months.
*Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.
Remember they are suppose to replace or widening the bridge over the California Aqueduct to make it 4 lanes. Ranchero Rd. will be closed again at the aqueduct for about 9 months* for work on widening the bridge.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $64.1 million, with the City of Hesperia responsible for $37 million. The county and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority are expected to cover the remaining costs.
This project is anticipated to be complete at the end of 2024.
