BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcyclist was involved in a hit and run crash with a big rig semi Friday evening.

The accident was reported about 5:06pm, Friday April 26, 2024. The location of the crash was on northbound Interstate 15, near the Midway Rest Stope Area or between Barstow and the town of Baker.

Due to unknown circumstances, possible a semi tanker trailer and a motorcycle collided. Only info posted on the CHP traffic log the rider was lane splitting prior to the collision.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The motorcycle rider was laying in the middle lane of the Interstate.

Firefighters rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist. Then they requested a helicopter to transport the injured rider.

The rider had unspecified injuries and was transported by Mercy Air # 66 from the scene to Antelope Medical Center.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at the time of the story. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
