LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County firefighters have stopped forward progress on a brush fire burning south of Barstow next to Highway 247 Thursday afternoon.

The fire, known as the Barstow Fire, started around 1:46pm on Thursday May 9, 2024, near Barstow Road/ Hwy 247 in the town of Lucerne Valley.

By 3pm the fire had forward progression stopped at about 55 acres burned with help light winds and moderate rate of spread. No structures was never affected by the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time
