The fire, dubbed the Glen Fire, started around 3pm on July 1, 2024, near Glen Helen Parkway.
By shortly after 3pm., the fire had grown to two acres with gusty winds pushing the flames towards the railroad tracks, San Bernardino County Fire said, adding that it “has the potential of 50 acres.”
With help with fixed wing aircraft, they were able to stop the forward rate of spread.
An hour later, SBCFD said crews had stopped the fire at five acres in the Cajon Creek Wash.
No structures were never affected by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
