Just before 8pm, CHP Communication Center began to receive multiple 911 calls about a crash on southbound Interstate 15 about a mile after the Cleghorn Road exit.
When first responders arrived, they found a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck on its wheels that had reportedly rolled multiple times. One person was located inside the truck.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. They reported the driver was conscious and talking.
According to the CHP Traffic Log, the GMC was heading southbound on I-15 and “possibly driving aggressively.” The driver was weaving in-out of traffic lanes, passing on the shoulder, clip a semi tractor trailer at a “high rate of speed” before they lost control hit the embankment, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times. The truck landed on it wheel in the fast lane.
CHP are working to determine if a medical event, or alcohol contributed to the crash.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
