California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department says it was called in at about 10:19pm on July 25, 2024. The fire location was reported to be on the Cleghorn Fire Road in the mountains of the Cajon Pass.
When fire personnel units were on scene. They found a fully involved vehicle in flames, and the flames spreading to nearby brush. The brush fire was burning downhill towards the wash at a slow rate of spread.
At 11:12pm fire crews said forward progress stopped at a 1/4 acre burned and the vehicle fire contained.
This fire is being called the “Cleghorn Fire”. The cause was under investigation.
