BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pedestrian was hit and killed by a semi tractor-trailer on Highway 247 in Barstow early Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened around 5am August 13, 2024.

CHP says the Barstow Communication Center was called for a semi vs. an unknown object crash on Hwy 247 near the Barstow Dump.

CHP says a semi tractor-trailer was traveling on Hwy 247 at highway speed, when it hit a male pedestrian walking in the road.

The pedestrian was fatally injured in the crash.

The semi driver wasn’t injured. The driver did remain at the scene for questioning.

CHP says the truck driver was not under the influence. It’s unknown if the pedestrian was at the time of the crash.

The road was closed as a result of the crash but has since reopened.
