The collision occurred on the northbound I-215 just before the University Parkway exit at around 11:26pm September 14, 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol
CHP reports that three people were travelling north on I-215 in their 2018 Toyota Corolla when the driver suddenly drifted into the right shoulder and collided with the rear of a semi tractor trailer that was disabled on the right shoulder.
According to the authorities, the impact of the collision prompted the Corolla to lose control, crossing all lanes to the left, and was then hit a burgundy Acura MDX SUV travelling at freeway speeds. After the collision, the Toyota Corolla became disabled in the middle of the freeway, and it was subsequently struck by a black Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck.
The contact caused two woman to become ejected from the Toyota Corolla. The third female was found inside the Corolla.
They were identified as Nicole Hester 27-years-old, India Hester 19-years-old, and Leann Martin-Hester 18-years-old. All three were pronounced deceased at the scene.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
