BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi-truck driver has died after a tire blowout led to a crash on southbound Interstate 15.

Around 5:49pm on Tuesday, California Highway Patrol responded to calls of a single-semi accident about three miles before the Halloran Summit Road exit on southbound I-15 in the center median divider.

CHP at the scene said witnesses observed the semi blew a tire, lost control, and jackknifed into the center median divider.

Rescue crews arrived on scene and they said the driver was passed out inside the cab. Fire department requested a medical helicopter to transport the semi driver. Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
