CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A single-vehicle rollover crash claimed the life of one person along Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass near the Truck Escape Ramp Wednesday morning, as reported by California Highway Patrol. (Photo above is credit by Arlisia Staley)
The incident unfolded on southbound I-15 close to Truck Escape Ramp, with the initial reports reaching CHP and San Bernardino County Fire about 11am on October 2, 2024. The vehicle, reported to be a white pickup truck unknown make or model, for reasons yet unknown, the truck veered off the roadway hit the center divider guardrail and overturned down the embankment, resulting in serious injuries to the driver after being ejected from the truck.
Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Firefighters and a CHP helicopter searched the area around the crash scene to ensure no other occupants were outside or inside the truck at the time of the crash.
