The California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department says the crash happened at about 9pm on Friday November 1, 2024, on Highway 138 at the sharp turn between Interstate 15 and Summit Valley Road. It was reported to be a two-vehicle crash on the CHP Traffic Log.

When rescue crews arrived at the scene, they located a Ford pickup truck maybe a Maverick or a Ranger and an unknown sedan with both heavy front-end damage and on fire. With help from Good Samaritans, they were able pull everybody from the burning vehicles

Rescue crews requested at least five ambulances and Mercy Air helicopter to the scene. The medical helicopter was canceled from an unknown reason. A total of five people were transported by ground ambulances to a nearby trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
