RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A car-to-car shooting lead into a high speed pursuit then ended in a closure of the 210 Freeway Thursday night into Friday morning.

San Bernardino undercover police officers witnessed a car-to-car shooting near the intersection of F Street and Magnolia Avenue, in the city of San Bernardino around 9:30pm Thursday November 7, 2024. Police said gunfire struck the unmarked police car, which led to a pursuit on northbound I-215 freeway and westbound 210 Freeway. During the pursuit, the suspect drove at speeds exceeding 100 mph and fired more shots at the pursuing officers, in marked vehicles.

The suspects in a dark gray Chevrolet Malibu eventually exited the 210 freeway at Archibald Avenue exit in the city of Rancho Cucamonga, and were taken into custody at the end of the offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway from the 15 Freeway to Milliken Avenue were closed overnight until about 6:30am Friday morning, as police conducted an investigation. 

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The San Bernardino Police Department is investigating the shooting in their city, while the California Highway Patrol is handling the freeway shooting.
