VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person killed and two other injured in a head-on crash Saturday afternoon on northbound Interstate 15.

The crash was reported around 4:08pm on November 23, 2024, on northbound I-15 just before the La Mesa/Nisqualli Road exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic logs stated, the gray Nissan Pathfinder SUV was traveling in the middle lane of northbound I-15 at freeway speeds. The driver of the blue sport car was reportedly speeding at a high rate of speed on southbound Mariposa Road. Mariposa Rd parallels I-15 freeway. The driver of the blue car lost control hit the ditch and went over the concrete wall and collided head-on with the Nissan SUV on the freeway.

Victorville City Fire Department responded to the traffic collision and confirmed that one person was deceased at the scene, and one person was trapped needed to be extrication.

Two people were transported by ground ambulances to a local hospital.

CHP and Caltrans have closed all northbound I-15 for the investigation then after 7pm lanes were reopened.
