The CHP Communications Center first received calls about the crash on 2:03am Thursday November 28, 2024, on southbound Interstate 15 about two miles after the Cleghorn Road exit,
It was reported to be a semi tractor trailer and a white Ford Edge SUV crash made contact. Then minutes later was upgraded to a semi hit a pedestrian in the slow lane.
Upon arrival, by the CHP and San Bernardino County Fire Department came on scene to see a semi blocking the slow lane with the pedestrian laying on the ground with the Ford on the right shoulder of the freeway.
The pedestrian, who was declared dead at the scene, according to the rescue personnel.
It wasn’t immediately determined what may have caused the pedestrian to be on the freeway. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at the time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
