BAKER, CA, (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi-trailer burst into flames Saturday afternoon along Interstate 15 near Stateline. (Photo above is credit by Rob Gold)

The fire happened in the northbound lanes of I-15 near the Halloran Sprind Road Exit, just before 1:30pm on November 30, 2024. San Bernardino County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol had to shut down the slow lane to fight the fire.

The driver was able to detach the tractor from the trailer to save the tractor cab from catching fire. The semi was carrying full load a cheese. The trailer was almost fully engulfed in flames.

It looks like a problem with one of the trailers tires, or the rear trailer brakes that caused the problem.

Caltrans and CHP said, the slow lanes will be closed for hours as they off-load the freight.

No injuries were reported.
