Officers and San Bernardino County Fire said they were called to the store in the town of Wrightwood off of Highway 2 around 11:10am on March 1, 2025.

When rescue workers arrived, they learned a woman had been driving her white Tesla sedan into a parking spot, when she reportedly hit the gas instead of the brake. The car jumped the tire curb in front of the outdoor garden center, hit the fence and two people nearby.

One of the two people reportedly had minor injuries and was able to run inside the store to call for help. The other person was lying down on the ground with major injuries, both of them were reported to be Mountain Hardware associates.

Medical personnel who responded to the scene reported that the injuries were serious and need to be airlifted out.

Mercy Air Helicopter #22 landed near the scene and transported the worker to Antelope Valley Medical Center. His injuries are unknown at this time.

It isn’t known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident. At this time, it’s unknown if the driver of the vehicle will face any charges.
