BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Authorities responded to reports of a rollover crash on northbound Interstate 15 Sunday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash, which impacted northbound side for several hours, occurred around 9:34am about 5 miles after the Halloran Springs Road exit in Halloran Springs. All lanes but one have were temporarily shut down for the emergency response, creating a ripple effect that backed up weekend motorists Sunday morning and the afternoon.
From the CHP traffic log stated a white Ford Escape SUV rollover and landed on its roof blocking the left shoulder and parts of the fast lane.
San Bernardino County Fire Recuse reported two critically injured patients, including a baby who was unresponsive and not breathing. They requested two medical helicopters and multiple ambulances to respond to the scene. They said at least five people were inside the vehicle.
Mercy Air 21 landed at the crash scene and airlifted one person to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. Mercy Air 7 landed at the scene then later cancelled for unknown reason. At least one person was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
CHP has confirmed from authorities that at least one person was killed in the solo vehicle rollover crash. No further details were immediately released.
