NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A major rollover crash off Interstate 40 left four people dead Sunday morning.
The crash was reported at around7:45am on May 4, 2025, in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 about three miles after Hector Road. According to California Highway Patrol, officers were on scene of the single-vehicle rollover crash, which left four people dead.
When rescue crews arrived on scene, they located a brown Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on the right-side shoulder of the freeway. The vehicle reportedly rolled over multiple time with major damage.
San Bernardino County Fire said, they confirmed three deceased at the scene and one critically injured individual. They called for a medical helicopter to land at the scene.
Mercy Air #66 was cancelled after the fouth person was deceased at the scene.
Their identity will be withheld pending next of kin notification.
Motorists on westbound I-40 are advised to avoid the area for the investigation continue there out the late morning and afternoon.
